Throughout the EP’s four-track duration, Andy Leon & The GMP weave together elements of indie-rock, jazz, and soul to craft a sound uniquely their own. With rich instrumental arrangements and blissful vocal hooks, the new EP is blanketed in a sense of peacefulness.

The dulcet-toned Emerson grad behind breakout 2017 EP “Scooter Blues” has been busy since relocating to LA, enlisting three former classmates (and one exuberant trumpet player) to perfect an onstage synergy they rather accurately describe as “Norah Jones out to dinner with Lake Street Dive.” The band’s first collection further establishes Leon as an exceptional storyteller, prone to the kinds of rose-colored reveries you want to live inside of, even as it festoons her vocals with sun-dappled guitars and effusive percussion.
We have far too few pure voices within the indie music circle, but we have to put Andy Leon in that group. Along with her band, the Great Mouse Parade, Leon has crafted and sings perfect songs that combine elements of indie rock, pop, jazz and folk to form the perfect platform for her music. We simply can’t get enough of her sound and look forward to checking out the band live. All four of these songs are attention-worthy and serve as tasty appetizers for what we are sure is yet to come.
